A Letter to the RCFC Families

A Letter to the RCFC Families

Dear RCFC Families,

We are excited to announce Riverside City Football Club as the newest affiliate of ALBION SC. After weeks of discussion the RCFC Board of Directors voted in favor of the affiliate move and now the Club can look forward to continuing to serve our community, players and families as ALBION SC Riverside.

This is an amazing opportunity for the players, families, and our club to take the next steps in progressing and improving our community youth soccer experience. As a club we have recognized the continued growth and changes in the youth soccer landscape in Southern California. RCFC wanted to be on the forefront of opportunity and growth in the evolving soccer community. The affiliate move comes at a time for the club to continue to provide an elevated and passionate soccer experience to our players and families.

Affiliating with ALBION SC allows us to continue our mission and vision, emphasizing a culture of integrity, passion, perseverance, and commitment in training and competition, while using the game of football as a vehicle to build character and teach life lessons through “Family-Football-Feeling”. With the support and resources of one of the most successful clubs on the local and national competitive level ALBION SC Riverside can confidently develop its player pathway, organizational structure and player opportunities. Many ALBION SC Riverside teams will have immediate access to the Elite Academy League this Fall, college placement support, national brand recognition across the United States and a pro pathway for all of our members.

The affiliation was carefully crafted with the purpose of developing every player to their highest potential. This relationship will provide long-term player development in both recreational and competitive programs, for both boys & girls, cultivating a lifelong passion for the game. The RCFC Club Directors and Board of Directors strongly believe that the local player power & unique passion and culture of Riverside City Football Club combined with the ALBION SC resources can present an enhanced player development environment and become the model club in Riverside and the surrounding communities for years to come.

As a club, we understand this change presents many concerns and questions from our families. We want to reassure you all that this development will not disrupt the experience you have come to know and love as RCFC supporters. As ALBION SC Riverside, those same positive experiences will continue without interruption. Player club fees will not be changed for the upcoming 2021-2022 season. Uniforms will be handled by the club for returning players and your coaching staff will remain unchanged. The Club’s Board will stay local and continue to work on your behalf as an independent nonprofit organization. The only change will be operation under the ALBION SC brand.

With this affiliate comes the need to communicate important information to our families. Please pay attention to a number of announcements over the course of the next 30 days. Information will be emailed and posted on our social media accounts and club websites throughout the day.

On behalf of the entire RCFC staff and Board of Directors, we appreciate all of the members across both organizations that provided input throughout the process. We feel prepared to take this next step and thank everyone for their patience while we worked to get to this point. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to kevin.watson@albionscriverside.org.
